This is a demo build of a game I'm making, and it's about halfway done. I'm releasing this for feedback. The full game should be complete in 2-3 months. Please let me know if you find any bugs.

Hope you enjoy this fan-made sequel to the long dead shareware series called the Hugo Trilogy, which originally appeared on DOS in 1990 (my birth year). It was created by David P. Gray, a true hero of shareware.

The series itself was a combination text-based and graphical game where the player controlled either the titular Hugo or his significant other, Penelope. Besides controlling these characters with arrow keys, the only other input players had was to enter text, saying phrases like "look at man", "take sandwich", "talk to witchdoctor", etc. Having received a classic 99 Best Shareware Games for Win95 disc as a kid, Hugo III: Jungle of Doom! was available on this collection (the easiest of the three games), and I played it until I was blue in the face. It taught me how to type, observe, explore, and think critically.

So, this Hugo IV: The Shining Aten takes place immediately after the events of the third Hugo game. Penelope and Hugo attempt to fly back to their home in merry old England, but once again get swept off course, crash-landing at an anachronistic version of the Amarna dig site in Egypt. In this demo, you'll control Hugo and Penelope together at first, but they may get split up (hint hint).

Game was created with Godot, and all assets were made with Blender and GIMP.
